About the Program

HENNGE’s Global Internship Program (GIP) is an on-site software engineering training program designed and run by HENNGE, a cloud security company based in Tokyo. The program is created for students and early-career engineers who want to strengthen their full-stack engineering skills in a global, English-speaking environment at our Tokyo headquarters.

This Full-Stack Pathway focuses on hands-on application development training across back-end, front-end, and basic DevOps, using Python (non-ML stack), Go, or TypeScript on the back-end and TypeScript with modern front-end frameworks on the front-end. The program emphasizes fundamental engineering skills, problem-solving, explanation, and collaboration, rather than production work.

What You’ll Learn & Practice

During the program, you will:

• Develop full-stack web applications as part of structured training projects

• Build and connect back-end APIs and services with front-end applications

• Practice key full-stack engineering concepts, including:

  • Back-end logic and API design

  • Front-end state management and data flow

  • Authentication and security basics

  • Software testing (unit, integration, end-to-end)

• Learn, at a practical level, how front-end, back-end, and cloud infrastructure interact

• Work with Unix-like environments and basic DevOps tooling

• Explain your technical decisions, trade-offs, and problem-solving approach during discussions and reviews

• Receive feedback from mentors and iteratively improve your implementation.

Our Stance on AI and Software Engineering

AI tools can be helpful, but the goal of HENNGE’s Global Internship Program (GIP) is to help you build strong software engineering fundamentals.

To support that learning, we ask you not to use AI tools to generate code for training assignments or solution implementations. The code you submit should be written by you and reflect your own understanding.

You may use a designated AI service to support your learning in non-code-generating ways, such as clarifying technical concepts, understanding documentation, or helping with non-essential tasks (for example, command-line options). 

Throughout the program, you’ll be expected to take ownership of your code and clearly explain your thinking, trade-offs, and design decisions. In this learning environment, you are the engineer and the final gatekeeper of quality

Essential Qualifications

• Third-year undergraduate or higher (including Master's and Doctoral students). Recent graduates are welcome to apply

• Pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science or a related field. If not, equivalent experience from a tech internship or bootcamp is expected

• Fluency in English (Japanese not required)

• Proficiency in Python, Go, or React/Vue in TypeScript

• Knowledge of Linux / MacOS / Unix-like environments

• Interested in open source or tech community activities

• Interested in pursuing a career in Japan

The Experience

Your Key Responsibilities

As an Intern, you will work closely with clients across multiple industries and contribute to a wide range of engagements. Your responsibilities will include:

• Stay up to date with regulatory developments, emerging risks, and market trends, including new and evolving requirements from the HKMA, SFC, IA, and MPFA, as well as relevant industry standards and leading practices.

Flow Traders is looking for entrepreneurial, competitive, and analytical students to join our Trading department as an Intern. What better way to find out if a career in Trading is something for you, than by experiencing it yourself as a Trading Intern!

You will get a 360-degree view of our role in the financial markets, how our Traders seize opportunities, and how they work together as a team to optimize and improve their trading desk. This Trading internship is about immersing yourself in the financial markets and experiencing trading up close. You'll spend your time understanding what a client actually needs, reasoning about the right solution, and building quick prototypes to prove it out before a line of production code is written. Think of it as a forward deployed engineer role: technical enough to build, curious enough to keep asking "why," and clear enough to write it all down.

What you’ll do

• Understand the problem first. Dig into a client's pain points, systems, and workflows until you genuinely understand what's broken and why.
• Reason about the solution. Translate business and technical needs into a practical, high-level solution approach as a trusted technical advisor.
• Build to prove it. Rapidly create working prototypes and interactive demos using AI coding agents (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) to validate ideas and de-risk proposals.
• Write it down clearly. Produce well-structured requirements and scope documents that a senior Project Manager can review and turn into a real project plan. Good writing is good thinking.
• Coordinate on scope and cost. Work with Project Managers to shape estimates and define the scope of work.
• Keep learning. Stay on top of the latest developments, tools, and trends in software, especially the fast-moving AI space.
• Grow into Project Manager or Solution Consultant. Over time, by joining sales team on calls, contribute to proposals and presentations, and eventually represent Oursky at seminars and workshops. You will grow into a more technical Project Management position, or business Solution Consultant.

Field Engineer Development Program (FEDP)

FEDP experience is a face-to-face learning exposure including on-the-job rotation, mentoring, coaching, sustainability and charity events that will provide you with board exposure to the Schindler business.

During the 2-year program, you will be introduced to the following FEDP journey:

• 1st Month: Induction and Training
  Learnings include: Schindler business & technical processes, latest product knowledge & technology, safety training, site exposure.

• 2nd - 12th Months: 1st Job Rotation
  Will be attached to one of the operations departments such as Existing Installation, Technical & Field Support, Modernization and New Installation.

• 13th - 24th Months: 2nd Job Rotation
  Will be attached to one of the operations departments such as Existing Installation, Technical & Field Support, Modernization and New Installation. 

Upon successful completion of the FEDP journey, you will start with a specialist position in one of the operations departments. You will undergo further development such as overseas assignment at a later stage. Our goal is to develop you to become our Operations team leader in 5+ years and to work at director level in 11+ years. 

Requirements

• A final year student or recent graduate with an Engineering degree from reputable university (mechanical / electrical engineering background is preferred).

• Have less than 1 year of full-time work experience.

• Passionate to work in elevator and escalator industry.

• Fluent in speaking Cantonese and able to read and write Chinese.

• Ability to speak, read and write English.

• Problem solving, can-do attitude, self-motivated.

• Self-reflective, open to take feedback and learn from experience.

• Willingness to work at construction site.
